Magazine Editors: We'll be considering microfiction published by magazines in 2019 and nominated by literary magazine editors. We're open until December 1st, 2019, for submissions.

Please note: some of our rules have changed. We can't accept as many submissions this year. We can only accept 4 per magazine:

Instructions for Literary Magazine editors: In your cover letter, please let us know your own name, the name of your magazine, the author's name and e-mail address. Please submit  (nominate) up to 4 microfiction stories that were published by your publication in 2019. Word requirement: 400 words or less only. You must  submit each nomination as a new submission.

Please note: If you are a small press publisher, we are not considering stories from collections and anthologies at this time.

This is the link for appointed scouts to submit stories they find in 2019 for consideration.  The stories may not be longer than 400 words total. WE'RE ACCEPTING NO ANTHOLOGY STORIES THIS YEAR, just magazines.

With each new submission please cut and paste the body of the story into a Word Doc. In the title of the document, please label it by the name of the story, the author, and the journal (even though it's long!), for example My Cheese Sandwich by Margaret Arlo from Wisp Elf Magazine.

1. Story Title

2. Name of author

3.  Name of journal

In the document itself, please  include any e-mail addresses you can find for the editors of publication. Submit any individual story all by itself, one at a time, as you find them over the entire year ending November 30, 2019
